Key Specifications

Why the Mini Fix Platform

The Mini Fix represents a fundamental rethinking of how bolt-action rifles should handle in the field. By adopting AR-15 controls and ergonomics—charging handle, magazine release, safety lever placement—Q eliminated the learning curve and manual of arms confusion that plague traditional hunting rifles and precision platforms. The folding aluminum chassis stock collapses to create a genuinely compact package without sacrificing shooter comfort or repeatability; this is not a gimmick, but a functional tool for hunters, precision shooters, and tactical professionals who count every ounce and inch.

The 6mm ARC caliber is the key to unlocking the Mini Fix’s versatility. Developed by Hornady in collaboration with precision shooting communities, 6mm ARC delivers sub-MOA accuracy, extended effective range compared to intermediate cartridges, and—critically—the ability to run subsonic loads when suppressed. With a 16″ barrel, this rifle achieves the ballistic efficiency of much longer barrels in a platform that handles like an AR carbine. AICS magazine compatibility means you have access to decades of proven ammunition offerings and magazines, while the proprietary single-stage trigger ensures clean breaks that support precision shooting from day one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Q Mini Fix 6mm ARC classified as an NFA firearm?

A: No. The Q Mini Fix 6mm ARC 16″ is not an NFA item. It is a standard bolt-action rifle that requires only a normal FFL transfer and background check. No special registration, Form 4, or tax stamp is required.

Q: Can the Mini Fix use standard AICS magazines, and what capacity does it accept?

A: Yes, the Mini Fix uses AICS-pattern detachable box magazines. This rifle comes with a 10-round magazine, but you can use other AICS-compatible magazines available from multiple manufacturers. The 10-round capacity complies with all U.S. federal law and most state restrictions.

Q: What makes 6mm ARC ideal for a suppressed bolt-action rifle?

A: 6mm ARC was engineered for accuracy and efficiency across a wide velocity range. With a 16″ barrel, it delivers sub-MOA precision and can be loaded with subsonic ammunition for optimized suppressed performance. This makes it ideal for hunting, precision shooting, and tactical applications where sound signature matters without sacrificing accuracy.

Q: How much does the Q Mini Fix weigh, and does the folding stock actually work for field use?

A: The Mini Fix weighs just 5.8 lbs unloaded, making it one of the lightest precision bolt-action rifles available. The folding aluminum chassis stock is fully functional—it collapses for transport and storage without losing repeatability, and deploys quickly for shooting. This design is not cosmetic; it’s built for hunters and shooters who need a genuinely packable rifle.
