Lower Receivers
AR-15 Lower Receivers at Western Sport
We carry stripped and complete lower receivers for AR-15 builds. The lower receiver is the serialized, regulated part of the AR-15 — it requires the same paperwork as a complete firearm purchase. Everything else is just parts.
For a stripped lower, we recommend Aero Precision or Anderson Arms depending on your budget. Aero M4E1 receivers are well-machined, accept most drop-in cassette triggers cleanly, and have good fit with most quality uppers. For a complete lower, we also carry factory-assembled options that just need an upper to function.
If you are buying a lower to build a complete rifle, we have every part you need to finish it. Call (817) 393-4000 or come in to Roanoke — we can talk through the build and make sure you are getting the right parts the first time.

Stripped vs complete lower receivers
A stripped lower receiver contains only the receiver itself — no trigger group, no buffer system, no stock. You supply all the lower parts. It is the lowest cost entry point into a build, and it lets you choose every component. Add a lower parts kit, trigger, stock, and buffer system to complete it.
A complete lower comes fully assembled with all parts installed, ready to accept an upper. It costs more but saves the assembly step. Most complete lowers come with a mil-spec trigger group — if you want a quality trigger, swap it before you shoot, not after you get used to the mil-spec pull.
We do AR-15 builds in-shop as well. If you want to hand-select all the components and have a gunsmith assemble it to spec, we handle that. Call for current labor rates and turnaround time.
