Magazines at Western Sport

We carry Magpul PMAGs, Lancer L5AWM, and standard mil-spec magazines for AR-15, AR-10, AK, and pistols. Magazine quality matters more than most buyers realize — a feed issue during a defensive situation comes back to the magazine more often than the firearm.

For AR-15 use, PMAGs are the standard. The Gen M3 version in 30-round configuration is what we sell most. Lancer L5AWM is the alternative if you want to see your round count through the translucent body. For competition, we also carry 40-round PMAG and 60-round drums.

Buy more magazines than you think you need. Three magazines minimum for any defensive firearm — one in the gun, two to rotate. Come in or call (817) 393-4000 for current pricing and availability.

Magazine selection by platform

AR-15: Magpul PMAG Gen M3 is the standard. GI aluminum mags work but are single-use in the sense that you should replace them when they show wear. Do not cheap out on magazines for a defensive gun.

AR-10 / .308: Magpul PMAG LR/SR Gen M3 is the AR-10 version. DPMS-pattern and SR-25-pattern lowers take the same magazine. Verify your lower pattern before ordering.

Pistol: Factory OEM magazines are usually the right answer. Sig P320 runs Sig mags, Glock runs Glock mags, M&P runs M&P mags. Aftermarket pistol mags vary widely in quality — we can advise on what works and what causes problems.
