- What it is: A thermal imager with two eyepieces, so you scan with both eyes open instead of squinting through a single tube.
- Why the format matters: Both eyes open means far less eye strain over a long night and a much better sense of depth and surroundings — which is the whole point if you are glassing a field for hours rather than taking a quick look.
- Where it sits in the range: This is the long-range tier. Bigger objective lenses and higher-resolution sensors than a pocket monocular, and in this category sensors run from 384 up to 1280.
- Rangefinding: Almost every unit here carries a built-in laser rangefinder, so you get the distance to the animal without putting the optic down.
- FFL status: Thermal binoculars are not firearms and not NFA items — no FFL transfer, no Form 4. Order online and they ship to your door.
What we carry
AGM Global Vision ObservIR LRF in 35-384, 35-640, 50-640 and 60-1280; ATN Binox 6 with laser rangefinder in 384×288 and 640×512; Nocpix Quest H35R and H50R; and Pulsar Merger LRF and Symbion LRF. Browse the maker directly at AGM Global Vision or Pulsar.
Binocular or monocular?
Buy a monocular if you want something that lives in a jacket pocket, keeps one eye dark-adapted and costs less. Buy a binocular if you are going to be behind it for hours, want the extra sensor and lens, or want the rangefinder reading built into the same device. Most people who own both end up carrying the binocular on a planned sit and the monocular on everything else.
Reading the model numbers
The two figures in a name like 50-640 are the objective lens in millimetres and the sensor resolution. The lens figure drives detection distance and narrows the field of view as it grows; the sensor figure drives how much detail is in the image once you have found something. A 35 mm lens gives you a wide scan, a 60 mm lens reaches further across open country. LRF in the model name means a laser rangefinder is fitted.
Ordering
These ship to your door, not to an FFL. Send us a message if you want a straight answer on which of two units suits your ground, and Credova financing is available at checkout.
