The Christensen Arms Evoke 7mm Rem Mag 22″ Mobil is a lightweight precision bolt-action rifle engineered for long-range big game hunting—delivering the proven power of the 7mm Remington Magnum in a package that weighs just 6.7 lbs thanks to Christensen’s revolutionary carbon fiber barrel technology. Built on the reliable Rem 700 action and finished in distinctive Mobil composite stock, this rifle balances terminal performance on elk and moose with the shootability and portability that serious hunters demand. The 7mm Rem Mag remains one of the most versatile magnum cartridges ever created, and Christensen has optimized it for field-ready accuracy without the weight penalty of traditional steel barrels.

About Christensen Arms

Founded in 1995 in Gunnison, Utah, Christensen Arms pioneered the production-scale manufacturing of carbon fiber–wrapped barrel technology—a breakthrough that fundamentally changed rifle design. Every Christensen barrel pairs a match-grade stainless steel core with an aerospace-grade carbon fiber wrap, dramatically reducing weight while maintaining the rigidity and thermal stability required for precision accuracy. The result is a family of rifles that outperform heavier steel-barrel competitors and set the standard for modern precision hunting rifles.

Key Specifications

The Evoke Platform

The Evoke series represents Christensen’s entry-level centerfire bolt-action rifle—built for hunters who refuse to compromise on accuracy or durability. At 6.7 lbs, this 7mm Rem Mag weighs significantly less than any steel-barrel rifle in the caliber, making all-day mountain hunts and steep terrain far more manageable. The 22″ carbon fiber wrapped barrel maintains the velocity envelope and ballistic authority of the 7mm Rem Mag while reducing muzzle jump and recoil compared to longer magnums, resulting in faster target reacquisition and more confident follow-up shots on game.

The 7mm Remington Magnum is a time-tested workhorse for elk, moose, and large-bodied game at extended range. With factory ammunition delivering 3,200+ fps from this 22″ barrel, the round produces excellent energy retention beyond 300 yards and a flat trajectory that minimizes holdover in the field. The threaded muzzle accepts suppressors and brakes, the AICS-compatible magazine allows accessory flexibility, and the Mobil composite stock resists weather while providing reliable repeatability. Whether hunting western mountains or taking advantage of open country in Texas, the Evoke 7mm combines precision engineering with practical field utility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why choose 7mm Remington Magnum for hunting?

A: The 7mm Rem Mag is one of the most versatile magnum cartridges, delivering excellent velocity (3,200+ fps from a 22″ barrel), flat trajectory, and reliable energy retention to 300+ yards. It excels on elk, moose, and large game while generating moderate recoil compared to .300 Win Mag or .338 Lapua. This makes it ideal for precision hunters who value both accuracy and power.

Q: How does Christensen’s carbon fiber barrel reduce weight?

A: Christensen wraps a match-grade stainless steel barrel core with aerospace-grade carbon fiber, creating a composite structure that is dramatically lighter than all-steel barrels while maintaining rigidity and thermal stability. This technology allows the Evoke 7mm to weigh just 6.7 lbs—comparable to lightweight .223 rifles—without sacrificing the strength needed for magnum pressures and precision accuracy.

Q: Can I add a suppressor to the Evoke 7mm Rem Mag?

A: Yes. The Evoke features a threaded 22″ barrel that is compatible with most modern suppressors and muzzle brakes. A suppressor not only reduces sound and recoil but also provides a practical advantage in the field, improving follow-up shot accuracy and hearing protection during high-stress hunting situations.

Q: What is the intended use for the Christensen Arms Evoke?

A: The Evoke is designed as a purpose-built hunting rifle for backcountry big game pursuits where weight matters and precision is non-negotiable. The lightweight carbon fiber platform, proven 7mm magnum cartridge, and Rem 700 action make it ideal for elk and moose hunts in mountainous terrain, western hunting, and long-range field applications where portability and reliability are equally important.
