Thermal Imaging
Thermal sees heat, not light, so it works in total darkness, through brush and in fog. It is what most of our customers reach for on hogs and predators. Night vision amplifies what little light is already there — different technology, different job.

Choosing the Right Optic
Red dot or magnified? Inside 100 yards, on a defensive carbine or a pistol, a red dot is faster and easier on the eyes. Past 200 yards, or when you need to identify what you are shooting at, magnification wins. Many customers run both — a red dot with a flip-to-side magnifier behind it.
Which red dot fits my pistol? It comes down to footprint, not brand. Trijicon RMR, Holosun EPS and RMSc, Aimpoint Acro and Leupold DeltaPoint all cut differently. If your slide is factory optics-ready (Glock MOS, S&W M&P 2.0, Staccato) you will usually need an adapter plate. We stock 291 of them — call and give us your slide and your optic and we will tell you which one.
Ring height. Pick the lowest rings that clear your objective bell and your handguard. Too high and you lose cheek weld; too low and the scope will not seat. For an AR, 1.93 inch is the common height for a proper heads-up shooting position; 1.5 inch suits a traditional cheek weld.
FFP or SFP? First focal plane reticles scale with magnification so your holdovers are true at any power — the choice for ranging and dialing. Second focal plane reticles stay the same size, which keeps them crisp at low power and is fine for hunting where you hold dead-on.
