Winchester Repeating Arms 1873 Short Rifle Lever-Action Rifle, 534200140

Product Description

The Winchester Repeating Arms 1873 Short Rifle is a lever-action rifle chambered in .44-40 Win with a 20″ round barrel. It has a blued finish and a fixed straight grip stock. The magazine holds 10 rounds.

Handy size, classic layout

The “Short Rifle” name fits the numbers. Overall length is 39″ and weight is 7.4 lbs, so it carries and handles easily. Length of pull is 13″. The barrel has a 1:18.75″ twist rate. This is a right-handed rifle with a hammer safety.

Sights are a bead front and a semi-buckhorn rear. Those are simple open sights, and they suit a traditional lever gun. The receiver is drilled and tapped, so you can add mounts or a different sighting setup if you want one.

This rifle suits anyone who likes the feel of a straight-grip lever action and wants a .44-40 Win rifle in a compact package. It also works for shooters adding to a collection of lever guns.

Useful gear to pair with it includes .44-40 Win ammunition, a sling, a padded rifle case, and a cleaning kit sized for the caliber. If you plan to mount a sight, pick one that matches the drilled and tapped receiver. Check that the mounts fit before you buy.
