Product Description

Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed

The Dead Air Armament Blast Shroud is a .458 Win Mag suppressor, sold under manufacturer part number DA464. It is built for one of the larger traditional big-bore rounds, so it fits a narrow group of rifles and the people who shoot them.

The Blast Shroud comes paired with the DA429 Keymo adapter, marked 1-3/8-32. That adapter is part of how this suppressor attaches to a host, so check your muzzle setup before you order. The other specs we state for this model are the caliber, the part number and the UPC, 810128161718.

Who it suits

This suppressor suits shooters with a rifle chambered in .458 Win Mag. That usually means hunters who carry a heavy-caliber rifle for large game, or owners who like to shoot big-bore rifles at the range. If your rifle is in a different caliber, this is not the right model.

To use it, you need a .458 Win Mag host rifle with a muzzle device or mount that works with the Keymo adapter. Many owners also add a sturdy sling, a good set of ear protection and a cleaning kit sized for the bore. Dead Air Armament is the maker, so ask us if you want help confirming a mount for your rifle before you commit.

Buying a suppressor now: a Form 4473 and a background check. No Form 4.

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.

  • Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
  • Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
  • Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
