Product Description

Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed

The Dead Air Armament Blast Shroud, DA465KL, is a black suppressor with the DA452 KeyMicro adapter in 1-1/8-28. The model name and part number tell you exactly which configuration this is, and the adapter is the detail that sets it apart from other Dead Air setups.

The KeyMicro adapter is how this suppressor attaches to a host. Before you order, check that your muzzle device or mount is compatible with the DA452 and the 1-1/8-28 size. If you are not sure, ask us and we will help you sort it out.

Who it suits

This suppressor suits owners who already like Dead Air products or who want the KeyMicro adapter system. It also suits buyers who like a plain black finish that blends in with most rifles and pistols.

Plan for the rest of the setup too. A compatible host firearm and the right muzzle device or mount come first. A good case or cover helps with storage and transport. Hearing protection is still smart to wear alongside any suppressor, since a suppressor reduces sound but does not remove it.

Because this is a suppressor, it ships to your local FFL dealer for transfer rather than to your door.

Buying a suppressor now: a Form 4473 and a background check. No Form 4.

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.

  • Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
  • Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
  • Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
