Product Description

Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed

The Dead Air Armament Blast Shroud Suppressor, DA465XNL, is a suppressor from Dead Air Armament, listed under manufacturer part number DA465XNL. The model name is Blast Shroud, and the UPC is 810128161954. Use those numbers to match it against the maker’s spec sheet.

Caliber rating, length, weight and mounting details are set by the manufacturer. Check them on the Dead Air spec sheet before you order, and make sure they fit the firearm you plan to run it on. A suppressor only works well when the mount and the host firearm match what the maker intends.

Who it suits

This suppressor suits a shooter who already knows what they want from the Dead Air line and wants this exact part number. It also fits a buyer who is new to suppressors and is willing to learn the NFA process. Because it is an NFA item, it is transferred through a licensed dealer, and you complete the required ATF paperwork before taking it home.

Plan on a few things to go with it. You will need a host firearm with a compatible muzzle device or mounting system. Hearing protection is still a good idea, since a suppressor lowers the report but does not make shooting silent. Ammunition that suits your firearm and the suppressor’s rating rounds out the setup. Western Sport is a licensed FFL/SOT dealer, and we can answer questions about the transfer before you order.

Buying a suppressor now: a Form 4473 and a background check. No Form 4.

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.

  • Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
  • Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
  • Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
