Product Description
The Templar Large US Flag Drop Point L-US-33-1 is an automatic double action OTF knife with a 3.5″ black 440C blade. Double action means the same control both fires the blade out the front and pulls it back in. The opener is automatic, and the handle carries a US flag finish.
The blade is a plain-edge drop point, 0.11″ thick, with a hardness of 61 HRC. A drop point has a strong, solid tip and a wide belly, which makes it a good all-around shape for cutting tasks. The black finish gives it a low-glare look. The handle is a premium metal alloy. Overall length is 9″, and it closes down to 5.5″. At 8.6 oz, it has some heft in the hand.
Features and who it suits
This is the Gen 2 series from Templar. It has a glass break feature and an easy reset, and it is paired with a ballistic nylon sheath. Those details make it a fit for people who want a knife for daily carry or for a gear bag, and for collectors who like patriotic themes.
Automatic knives are regulated differently from place to place, so check your state and local rules before you order. For carry, a sturdy belt and the nylon sheath keep it handy. Many owners also add a small sharpening stone, a flashlight and a multi-tool to round out an everyday kit.
