Cimarron Downunder .45-70 Govt Lever-Action Rifle, 34″ Barrel

Product Description

The Cimarron Downunder is a lever-action rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt with a 34″ octagon barrel. The barrel has a 1:18″ twist. Overall length is 50.5″, so this is a long rifle by any standard.

Several features set it apart. It has a double set trigger, which lets you use a light set pull or the standard pull. The hammer is external. The forearm is pewter tipped, and the stock is checkered satin walnut. The metal wears a case color hardened finish. Capacity is 1 round.

Sights and Setup

The rifle uses a German silver blade and an adjustable ladder sight. That is a traditional open-sight setup. It rewards slow, careful shooting and a good understanding of your load.

This rifle fits shooters who like classic rifle styling and a long sight radius. It also suits collectors who want a good-looking .45-70 Govt with an octagon barrel. If you plan to shoot it at the range, think about a sturdy set of shooting sticks or a bench rest, good ear and eye protection, and a cleaning rod sized for the caliber. A padded case helps protect the walnut and the finish during transport. Because it holds one round, a belt pouch or cartridge holder for spare ammunition makes range sessions easier.
