The Colt’s Manufacturing Python is a double-action .357 Mag revolver with a 2.6″ barrel and a 6-round cylinder. The frame is stainless steel, and the overall length is 8″. It weighs 39 oz, so it has some heft behind the cylinder.

This Python has an external hammer, so you can fire it two ways. Double action takes an 8 lb trigger pull. Single action drops that to 3.5 lb for slower, more careful shots. The rifling twist rate is 1:14″.

Sights and grips

The sights are a red ramp up front with an adjustable rear. That lets you tune the point of impact to your load. The grips are walnut with a round butt profile, which keeps the bottom of the grip rounded and smooth.

This revolver fits shooters who like a short barrel and a simple, hands-on action. It works for range practice, home defense and carry.
