Howa USA Lightning Short .308 Win Bolt-Action Rifle, 16.25″ Barrel

Product Description

The Howa USA Lightning Short is a .308 Win bolt-action rifle with a 16.25″ Lite Profile barrel. Overall length is 38.75″, so it is a compact rifle that is easy to carry and handle in tight spaces like a blind, a truck or thick brush. The barrel has a 1:10″ twist.

What sets it apart

The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, which makes this rifle suppressor ready. The stock is an HS Precision, finished in green with black webbing, with a 13.37″ length of pull. The action is black and fitted with a HACT trigger and a 3 position safety. Ammunition feeds from a hinged floorplate magazine that holds 4+1 rounds. The receiver is drilled and tapped for optic mounting.

This rifle has no sights, so plan on adding a scope and mounts before you head to the range or the field. A sling and a bipod are natural additions for a rifle this size. If you run a suppressor, check that it fits a 1/2×28 thread. Pair it with quality .308 Win ammunition and you have a short, practical rifle for deer-sized game and for steady practice at the bench.
