Howa USA Lightweight Short 2 6.5 Creedmoor Bolt-Action Rifle, HHSSL65CRODG-16

Product Description

The Howa USA Lightweight Short 2 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, built around a 16.25″ Lite Profile barrel. The short barrel keeps the overall length at 38.75″, so the rifle is easy to move through brush, carry on a long walk, or handle from a truck or blind.

The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28 and the rifle is suppressor ready, so you can mount a brake or suppressor without any gunsmith work on the barrel. The barrel has a 1:8″ twist. The rifle also comes drilled and tapped for optics mounting. It has no sights, so you will need to add a scope or other optic before you head to the range.

Stock, trigger and magazine

The rifle uses an HS Precision stock with a 13.37″ length of pull. The trigger is a HACT trigger. A hinged floorplate magazine holds 4+1 rounds, and the 3 position safety lets you work the bolt with the safety on.

This rifle fits hunters who want a compact 6.5 Creedmoor for deer-sized game and shooters who want a handy rifle for steel and paper. It pairs well with a quality scope and mounts, a bipod, a sling, and a suppressor that fits a 1/2×28 muzzle. Add a few boxes of 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition and you can start sorting out which loads group best.
