Charter Arms Double Dog .357 Mag Revolver, 4.2″ Barrel, 5-Round, 13942

Product Description

The Charter Arms Double Dog is a .357 Mag double-action revolver with a 4.2″ barrel. It holds 5 rounds and is built on a sub-compact steel frame. The finish is a black passivate coating.

The sights are what set this revolver apart from many small-frame wheelguns. Both the rear and front sights are adjustable, so you can tune the point of impact to your load. The 4.2″ barrel gives you a longer sight radius than a snub-nose, and overall length is 8.75″. Classic walnut grips round out the look.

Who it suits

At 24 oz, the Double Dog is light enough to carry on a long walk and still solid enough to shoot comfortably. The steel frame adds heft that helps manage the recoil of a .357 Mag. It fits shooters who like the simplicity of a double-action revolver: pull the trigger and it fires, with no safety to manage. That makes it a reasonable pick for range sessions, backcountry carry, or a nightstand gun.

For gear, start with a belt or hip holster sized for a 4.2″ barrel revolver. Add speed loaders or a dump pouch, a good set of eye and ear protection, and a cleaning kit made for .357 Mag bores. If you plan to dial in the sights, bring a bench rest and a few different loads to see which one groups best.
