The Charter Arms Cougar is a .38 Spl double-action revolver with a 2″ barrel and a 5-round cylinder. It is built on a small frame made of 7075 aluminum and has a black finish.
The size is the main point. The Cougar weighs 12 oz and measures 6.75″ overall, so it is easy to carry and easy to store. The cylinder uses a 3-point lock-up, and the hammer is spurred. Sights are fixed, so there is nothing to adjust or knock out of position.
Who it suits
This revolver fits shooters who want a small, light .38 Spl for concealed carry, a nightstand, a glove box or a tackle bag. Double action means you pull the trigger to cock and fire, with no safety lever to manage. The black rubber grips have finger grooves, which give your hand a place to settle on a short-barreled gun.
Gear that pairs well starts with a holster sized for a small-frame 2″ revolver. Add a few speedloaders or speed strips, since the cylinder holds five. Pick up .38 Spl ammunition for practice and for carry, and use a basic cleaning kit to keep the bore and cylinder clean. Eye and ear protection round out a range bag.
