Hsm Subsonic Long Flat Nose .45-70 Govt 550 gr Ammo, 20 Rounds

Product Description

Hsm Subsonic Long Flat Nose .45-70 Govt ammo is a boxed load built around a 550 gr bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1002 fps. Each box holds 20 rounds. The part number is 45-70-16-N.

The bullet is a long flat nose design, and the weight is on the heavy side for this caliber. The Subsonic name and the 1002 fps muzzle velocity tell you this load is aimed at a slower, heavier-bullet style of shooting. If you want to know how it groups, shoot a box through your own rifle and check it on paper.

Who it suits

This ammo suits shooters with a rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt. It makes sense for range days, practice with a heavy bullet, and anyone who wants to learn how a 550 gr load behaves from their rifle. Check your rifle’s manual or the maker’s guidance before you shoot any new load through it.

For gear, start with a rifle chambered in .45-70 Govt. Add good hearing and eye protection, a steady shooting rest, and paper or steel targets rated for the bullet. A cleaning kit sized for the caliber is worth having close by. Buy a few boxes at a time if you plan to sight in and then shoot a full session.
