Product Description
Winchester Repeating Arms Mpht is a 28 gauge Magnum Pheasant shotshell with a muzzle velocity of 1200 fps. It is sold 25 rounds to the box under manufacturer part number MP28356.
What sets it apart
This is a 3″ shell, which is the longer length for the 28 gauge. It is loaded with shot sizes 5 and 6, so one box covers two pellet sizes depending on how you pattern your gun. The Magnum Pheasant name tells you what the load was built for: upland birds.
Because the shell is 3″ long, your shotgun needs a 28 gauge chamber that accepts that length. Check the barrel or the receiver markings before you buy. If your gun is chambered for shorter shells only, this load will not fit.
This ammo suits upland hunters who carry a 28 gauge and want a longer shell in the field. It also works for anyone who wants to pattern a 3″ 28 gauge load at the range before the season opens.
Good gear to pair with it includes a 28 gauge over-under, side-by-side or semi-auto with a 3″ chamber, a set of choke tubes to test with these shot sizes, a shell pouch or hunting vest, and a game bag. Add eye and ear protection for every trip.
