Sandman X: The Heavy-Duty Sandman Variant
The Sandman series has earned its reputation as one of the most battle-proven rifle suppressors in the industry. The Sandman X carries forward the full-auto-rated, hard-use DNA of the Sandman family in a robust configuration optimized for sustained fire and demanding environments. Built with Dead Air’s signature stellite blast baffle for maximum first-round longevity, the Sandman X handles everything from .308 Win to 7.62 NATO — and does it without complaint across high round counts.
KeyMo: Dead Air’s Ratcheting QD System
The KeyMo mounting system is Dead Air’s proprietary ratcheting quick-detach technology. KeyMo allows suppressor installation and removal in a single smooth motion — no tools, no back-timing, no slippage. The ratcheting mechanism locks the suppressor rock-solid to the muzzle device and releases with a simple counter-rotation. KeyMo muzzle devices (flash hiders, brakes) are sold separately and required for installation. Once you have the muzzle device, switching the Sandman X between hosts takes seconds.

What calibers does the Sandman X support? The Sandman X is rated for .308 Win and 7.62 NATO. It is also compatible with smaller centerfire rifle calibers (6.5 CM, .243, etc.) when used with the appropriate KeyMo muzzle device. Check Dead Air specs for magnum ratings.
Do I need a KeyMo muzzle device? Yes. KeyMo suppressor canisters require a matching KeyMo muzzle device (flash hider or brake) threaded to your barrel. These are sold separately. Contact Western Sport for compatible options.
Is the Sandman X full-auto rated? Yes. The Sandman X is full-auto rated and built for sustained fire.

Buying a suppressor now: a Form 4473 and a background check. No Form 4.
Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.
Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
