Product Description

Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed

The Q Porq Chop 8.6 BLK Suppressor delivers approximately 32 dB of sound reduction in a purpose-built package engineered for 8.6 Blackout rifles. Built by Q LLC—founded by Kevin Brittingham, the visionary behind Advanced Armament Corp—this suppressor combines aerospace-grade materials with meticulous engineering to give you one of the quietest, most reliable 8.6 platforms available. Whether you’re optimizing subsonic performance or maximizing hearing protection, the Porq Chop is designed to dominate in its class.

Q LLC Suppressor Heritage

Kevin Brittingham founded Advanced Armament Corp (AAC), which became one of the most respected names in silencer manufacturing. After leaving AAC, Brittingham launched Q LLC with an uncompromising vision: build suppressors using aerospace-grade titanium and stainless steel with tolerances that rival precision firearms components. Every Q suppressor is proudly manufactured in Claremont, New Hampshire. This heritage means you’re not buying a generic can—you’re investing in engineering excellence refined over decades.

Performance & Engineering

The Porq Chop is Q’s signature 8.6 Blackout suppressor—engineered specifically for this cartridge’s high-volume flow rates and subsonic ballistics. Unlike universal cans that compromise across multiple calibers, the Porq Chop’s internal baffle geometry is optimized for 8.6’s unique performance window. The result is superior sound suppression, reduced backpressure management, and a shooter-friendly experience on both subsonic and supersonic rounds. The Quick Detach mount system allows seamless host transitions, so you can move the suppressor between compatible rifles without tools.

Built from aerospace-grade titanium and stainless steel with tight manufacturing tolerances, the Porq Chop is engineered to withstand years of hard use. The black finish resists corrosion, and the modular design means parts can be serviced or replaced by Q without sending the entire unit back. At approximately 12 ounces and 7.5 inches, it strikes the perfect balance between volume capacity and maneuverability—compact enough for precision rigs, efficient enough for tactical systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the Porq Chop 8.6 BLK Suppressor sound reduction mean?

A: The estimated ~32 dB of sound reduction means the suppressor reduces the noise level of an 8.6 Blackout rifle by approximately 32 decibels, making it substantially quieter for hearing protection and tactical use. Actual reduction varies with ammunition type (subsonic vs. supersonic) and host firearm design.

Q: Is the Porq Chop compatible with other calibers?

A: No. The Porq Chop is designed specifically for 8.6 Blackout. Q LLC makes caliber-specific suppressors because optimized internal geometry delivers superior performance. For other calibers, Q offers the Thunder Chicken, Trash Panda, and Full Nelson for 7.62; the Southpaw for 5.56; and the Erector series for 9mm and .22LR.

Q: How long does the NFA Form 4 approval process take at Western Sport?

A: ATF Form 4 approval varies — see our NFA wait times guide for current figures from submission. Western Sport, as a licensed SOT dealer, handles all paperwork and ATF coordination. You will pay $0 in NFA tax stamps for SOT transfers, saving hundreds of dollars compared to standard dealer transfers.

Buying a suppressor now: a Form 4473 and a background check. No Form 4.

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.

  • Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
  • Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
  • Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
