The PWS BDE36 TI is Primary Weapons Systems’ large-bore BDE suppressor, rated for .36 caliber — covering .338 Lapua Magnum and equivalent large-bore precision cartridges. PWS designates this as “36 cal” to indicate a bore clearance appropriate for the .338 Lapua family; the “TI” designation means titanium construction, which provides a significant weight savings over steel on what is already a larger, heavier suppressor than typical 5.56 or 7.62 cans. .338 LM produces significantly more energy and pressure than .308 — a suppressor designed for .338 needs greater engineering margins than one designed for 7.62 NATO, and the BDE36 TI is built accordingly.
At $1,249.95, the BDE36 TI is positioned in the premium .338 suppressor tier — less expensive than the Barrett factory suppressors but at a premium over entry-tier .338 cans, reflecting both the titanium construction and PWS’s engineering standards. For the PWS precision rifle shooter running a .338 LM platform, the BDE36 TI is the natural factory-consistent choice.

What does “.36 cal” mean in the context of this suppressor?
PWS designates this suppressor as “36 cal” to indicate it is built for cartridges with a .338″ bullet (like .338 Lapua Magnum). The bore clearance and baffle engineering are sized for this caliber class. It can also be used on smaller caliber rifles (7.62/.308, 5.56, etc.) with appropriate mounting — check thread compatibility.
Why titanium for a .338 suppressor?
Titanium’s high strength-to-weight ratio is particularly valuable in large-bore suppressors: the suppressor needs more material to safely contain higher chamber pressure, but every additional ounce added to the muzzle affects rifle balance and carrying comfort on a precision long-range rifle. Titanium construction delivers the required strength at significantly lower weight than steel.

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.
Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
