MCX Spear 6.8×51 vs. 7.62×51 — which should I choose?
7.62×51 offers widely available, less expensive ammunition and decades of established performance data. 6.8×51 offers a newer, more powerful cartridge with higher energy and flatter trajectory — but at higher ammunition cost and lower availability. For general .308 applications (hunting, long-range SBR use, suppressed precision), the 7.62×51 Spear is the practical choice. For maximum terminal performance and NGSW-aligned capability, choose 6.8×51.
What suppressors work with the MCX Spear 7.62×51?
Sig’s SLX 762 QD suppressor is the ideal pairing — it mates to the factory QD flash hider. The SLH 762 TI is Sig’s titanium option for lower weight. Third-party suppressors rated for 7.62 NATO with compatible QD mounts also work.
What is the NFA stamp cost?
