Western Sport has been an SOT/Class III dealer since 2007. Our NFA catalog runs to more than 100 items, including short-barrelled rifles, short-barrelled shotguns, AOWs and pistol-calibre SBRs from makers such as Maxim Defense.

What we carry

Factory short-barrelled rifles in 5.56, .300 Blackout and pistol calibres, SBS shotguns, AOWs, and NFA-ready hosts. For cans specifically, see suppressors; for a plain-English overview, read NFA Made Simple.

What the process looks like now

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration for short-barrelled rifles, short-barrelled shotguns, AOWs or suppressors. They transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a NICS background check, like any other gun. Machine guns and destructive devices are unchanged and still go through the full NFA process with the $200 tax.

Two rules still apply. Your state’s law decides what you can own, and taking an SBR or SBS across state lines still needs an approved ATF Form 5320.20. Live outside Texas? We ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. The full walkthrough is on how buying works at Western Sport, or send us a message.
