Shooting and EDC Apparel at Western Sport

We carry range-appropriate clothing and tactical apparel for shooters who need gear that holds up at the range, in training courses, and in the field. Plate carrier setups, chest rigs, belts, and gloves from Blue Force Gear, Haley Strategic, and other manufacturers who build functional kit.

Good gear does not call attention to itself. We focus on what actually works at the range and in real applications — not brands chasing social media visibility. The stuff on our shelves is what our gunsmiths and instructors actually run.

Choosing functional range gear

A quality range belt is the foundation of a competitive or training setup. You need a stable platform that does not compress under holster draw and carries magazines without shifting. Blade-Tech, High Speed Gear, and similar manufacturers build belts worth buying. Cheap canvas belts work for casual use but fail under the stresses of serious training.

Plate carriers and chest rigs serve different purposes: plate carriers hold armor plates and carrier-mounted accessories for protective use; chest rigs carry magazines and accessories for training and competition without the weight of armor. For most recreational shooters, a chest rig for competition use is the more practical choice.

Gloves for shooting should not compromise trigger feel. Mechanix Wear M-Pact or FastFit are what we see most on the range — protective enough to matter, thin enough not to interfere with the trigger. Test any glove on the trigger before buying.
