What we carry

Reading the numbers

8×42 and 10×42 are the two configurations most hunters end up with. The first number is magnification, the second the objective diameter in millimetres; divide the second by the first and you get exit pupil, which is what governs low-light performance. An 8×42 gives 5.25mm and is noticeably brighter at dawn and dusk than a 10×42’s 4.2mm — and 8x is easier to hold steady without a rest. Go to 10x when you are glassing open country and can brace.
