Mounting hardware is where most optic problems actually start. Western Sport stocks over 1,100 rings, bases, rails, risers and one-piece mounts at our Roanoke, TX shop in the north Dallas–Fort Worth corridor — Warne, Leupold, Weaver, Talley, Burris, DNZ, Badger Ordnance, Unity Tactical, Reptilia, American Defense and Seekins Precision among them.

What we carry

Traditional two-piece rings and bases for bolt guns, Picatinny and Weaver rails, one-piece cantilever mounts for AR-15s and AR-10s, quick-detach throw-lever mounts, offset and 45° mounts for backup optics, and riser plates for night-vision height-over-bore. We also stock optic plates and adapters if you are mounting a red dot to a cut slide instead.

Getting the fit right

Three numbers decide the mount: tube diameter (1", 30mm and 34mm are the common ones), ring height, and how far forward the optic needs to sit for correct eye relief. On an AR, a one-piece cantilever mount at 1.93" gives you a heads-up shooting position; 1.5" is the older “absolute co-witness” height and still right for a lot of builds. Bolt guns almost always want the lowest ring that clears the objective bell.

Not sure what fits your rifle? Call the shop — we mount optics in-house and would rather answer the question than sell you the wrong ring.
