Specifications

What Makes the B-14 Ridge Different

• Widest caliber ecosystem in the B-14 family. From .223 Rem and 7mm-08 all the way to 300 PRC, 450 Bushmaster, and 7 PRC, the Ridge gives you more options than any other B-14 model. The 7mm-08 sits in that sweet spot: genuinely useful for medium game, manageable recoil, and widely available ammunition.
• Remington 700 footprint action with modern upgrades. The B-14 action accepts every Remington 700 stock, chassis, trigger, and scope mount ever made. Stronger bolt stop, coned bolt nose for smooth feeding, and a threaded oversized bolt knob as standard—all the refinements Remington should have added decades ago.
• Trigger that rivals aftermarket units out of the box. The Bergara Performance Trigger is user-adjustable from 2 to 4 lbs with just an Allen key—no gunsmith visit required. Factory-set around 3 to 3.5 lbs, it’s crisp, predictable, and consistently praised by reviewers as a match for $200+ upgraded triggers.
• Clean, field-ready internal box magazine with hinged floor plate. No external protrusions to snag brush or clothing. Simple, reliable, and it works in hunting situations where modern detachable mags sometimes get lost or bent.

Bergara’s Barrel Story

Bergara is more than a brand—it’s a town in Spain’s Basque region, home to centuries of gunmaking craft. The company has supplied precision barrels to the world’s finest firearms makers for decades, and that heritage shows in every Ridge. The 5-step barrel process—straightening, deep-hole drilling, three-spindle diamond honing to a mirror finish, button rifling with carbide buttons held to less than .0002″ groove diameter deviation, and high-temperature stress relieving—produces barrels that deliver hand-lapped accuracy at production prices. That process is why Bergara can guarantee sub-MOA performance on every rifle, and why this 7mm-08 will shoot consistently tight groups year after year.

The 7mm-08 Rem for Hunting

The 7mm-08 is the thinking hunter’s cartridge. It’s faster and flatter than the .308, delivers more energy than the .260, and shoots bullets with excellent ballistic coefficients—all with less recoil and barrel wear than a .300 Win Mag. At 22 inches, your Ridge will produce roughly 2,800 fps with a 140-grain load, more than sufficient for clean kills on whitetail, mule deer, elk at reasonable ranges, and black bear. Ammunition is widely stocked, brass is readily available for reloaders, and the cartridge has proven itself in the field for decades. This isn’t a trendy choice; it’s a proven one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is 7mm-08 Rem a good choice for hunting elk?

Yes, provided you use quality 140–150 grain bullets and keep shots inside 300 yards. The 7mm-08 has proven itself on elk for decades when ammunition selection and shot placement are solid. It’s not a pure magnum-cartridge elk gun, but it’s more than adequate for most hunting situations and much more pleasant to shoot in a rifle you’ll carry all day.

Can I swap the stock or trigger on the Ridge?

Absolutely. The B-14 action uses the Remington 700 footprint, which means it accepts any Remington 700 pattern stock, chassis, or trigger ever made—the largest aftermarket ecosystem in bolt-action history. Want to upgrade to a chassis later? Swap in an aftermarket trigger? You can do both with no modifications.

Will the 22-inch barrel work well with a suppressor?

Yes. The Ridge’s 22-inch barrel is a proven length for suppressed shooting. If you’re interested in a more compact setup, Bergara also offers the Ridge in 18-inch Special Purpose configurations designed specifically for suppressor integration. Send us a message to discuss your suppressor plans and barrel-length trade-offs.

What makes the Bergara trigger better than factory triggers?

The Bergara Performance Trigger is user-adjustable and ships preset to around 3 to 3.5 lbs—crisp, predictable, and comparable to aftermarket triggers that cost two to three times more. Most shooters find it ready to use out of the box without modification, though you can fine-tune it yourself with an Allen key if needed.

Does every Ridge come with Bergara’s sub-MOA guarantee?

Yes. Every Bergara rifle, including this 7mm-08 Ridge, is backed by a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee. Straight from the box, with quality factory ammunition, your rifle will print groups smaller than 1 inch at 100 yards. If it doesn’t, Bergara will make it right.
