The Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW in .300 Blackout is a compact, purpose-built pistol platform engineered for close-quarters capability. Its 7-inch cold hammer forged barrel and Maxim Defense CQB Pistol Brace collapse to roughly 20.75 inches, delivering a package shorter than most carbines with fully collapsed stocks.
.300 Blackout was designed to burn powder efficiently in short barrels. This DDM4 PDW loses far less velocity than a comparable 5.56 pistol of the same length. The 5/8×24 threaded muzzle ships ready for a suppressor, making it ideal for subsonic applications.

This firearm ships from the factory with a pistol stabilizing brace attached to a pistol-length receiver extension, configured as a pistol — not a rifle. A 2024 federal court ruling vacated ATF’s 2023 rule that reclassified braced pistols as Short-Barreled Rifles (SBRs), and the government dropped its appeal of that ruling in 2025.
