Product Description
The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 Pro Rifle is a semi-automatic 5.56 NATO rifle built on an 18" S2W heavy profile cold hammer forged barrel with a rifle-length gas system, a Geissele Automatics Super Dynamic 3-Gun trigger, a Daniel Defense Muzzle Climb Mitigator and a free-floating MFR 15.0 M-LOK rail, in Daniel Defense’s California Compliant configuration with a Magpul PMAG 10-round magazine.
The V7 Pro exists because multi-gun shooting rewards a specific set of choices, and Daniel Defense made all of them at the factory: an 18" barrel for velocity and sight radius, the S2W contour for stiffness and heat capacity without a bull-barrel weight penalty, rifle-length gas for the lowest port pressure in the platform, a match trigger instead of a Mil-Spec one, and a muzzle device that fights climb rather than flash.
The practical result is a rifle that is easier to shoot fast and accurately than a carbine, and harder to carry. It weighs 7.40 lbs and runs 34 3/4 to 37 7/8 inches with the muzzle device. If your shooting is mostly measured in hits at distance, in transitions between targets, or in stages against a clock, that is a good trade. If the rifle lives in a truck or gets carried on foot, a 16" V7 is the better answer.

California Compliant configuration
This part number is Daniel Defense’s California Compliant V7 Pro, configured with a Magpul PMAG 10-round magazine. Compliance rules change and are applied differently in different localities. We are not telling you this rifle is legal where you live, and you should not read it that way — confirm the current requirements for your own jurisdiction, then call 817-393-4000 and we will confirm this SKU’s configuration in detail before you order.
V7, V7 Pro or MK12?
The V7 is the 16" general-purpose rifle at 6.2 lbs. The V7 Pro is this rifle: 18 inches, heavier barrel, rifle-length gas, match trigger, built for competition. Daniel Defense catalogues the MK12 separately for precision-oriented shooters. The question is whether you are optimising for carrying the rifle or shooting it from a stable position. Compare the DDM4 rifles and Daniel Defense rifle range, and see our optics.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between the V7 and the V7 Pro?
A: Barrel, gas length, trigger and muzzle device. The V7 is a 16-inch Government profile rifle on mid-length gas with a flash suppressor at 6.2 lbs. The V7 Pro is an 18-inch S2W heavy barrel on rifle-length gas with a Geissele trigger and a Muzzle Climb Mitigator at 7.40 lbs.
Q: Why choose the S2W profile over a lightweight barrel?
A: Stability when hot. S2W is Daniel Defense’s strength-to-weight contour: it keeps steel where stiffness and heat capacity matter and trims it where they do not, so the barrel resists point-of-impact drift through long strings without the full weight of a bull barrel.
Q: Does the rifle-length gas system make the rifle harder to suppress?
A: Rifle-length gas generally runs at lower port pressure, which tends to be friendly to suppressed shooting, but the muzzle here is fitted with a Muzzle Climb Mitigator rather than a suppressor mount. Call 817-393-4000 before buying a can so we can go over what fits this SKU.
Q: What magazine does this compliant SKU use?
A: Daniel Defense configures this California Compliant V7 Pro with a Magpul PMAG 10-round magazine. What is lawful for you depends on the current rules in your own jurisdiction, which change over time. Verify those independently before ordering.
Q: Does the California Compliant class mean this V7 Pro is legal where I live?
A: We cannot answer that for you. Daniel Defense builds the SKU as a California Compliant configuration, but requirements change and vary by locality. Check what currently applies at your address with a competent source, and call 817-393-4000 with questions about the rifle itself.
Q: How is the sale completed?
A: Call 817-393-4000. The rifle is serialized and must be transferred through a licensed FFL. Western Sport is a licensed FFL and SOT in Roanoke, Texas and can complete the transfer in store or ship to an FFL nearer you for pickup.
