Product Description
The Daniel Defense MFR XL 15.0 (M-LOK) Rail is the longest handguard in the MFR XL line: 15.30″ of rail length over a 1.61″ inside diameter designed for use with a suppressor, with M-LOK on the sides and bottom, an uninterrupted Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny upper rail, and free-float mounting through the patented Bolt-Up System. Sold here as part number 01-107-09195 in black, it weighs 10.40 oz and is specified for a rifle gas system.
This is the rail for a 16″ or longer rifle that runs a can. Fifteen inches of handguard over a suppressor-diameter bore means the muzzle device, the mount and most of the can can live inside the rail, where your hand never touches them. It is also the only XL long enough to reach over a rifle length gas block.
Ten and a half ounces for 15.30″ of aluminum is light for the length, which is the M-LOK argument: mounting surface only where you bolt something on, not a Picatinny ladder down both sides. The top is still a full-length 1913 Picatinny rail indexed to the receiver. Width is 1.82″ and height 2.163″, identical to the shorter XLs.

Fitment: the longest XL needs barrel to sit on
The specified gas system is rifle, and the family is specified for a pinned low-profile gas block. A 15.30″ handguard needs a barrel long enough that the rail does not run past the muzzle, so in practice this is a 16″ and longer proposition. Any gas system from pistol to rifle length sits under the rail, and the block must clear the 1.61″ bore, which rules out a front sight base. Call 817-393-4000 if the numbers are tight.
Why the 1.61″ bore changes what you can build
A standard MFR uses a 1.39″ inside diameter and a DDM4 Rail 1.08″. Those are barrel-and-gas-block dimensions. At 1.61″ the XL is sized around what you bolt to the muzzle instead, which is why Daniel Defense describes the increased internal diameter as giving proper clearance to install a suppressor. On a long rifle it also hides a heavier barrel contour and a big mount inside the handguard.
Pair it up: suppressors for the can this rail is built around, and rails and handguards to compare lengths side by side.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What barrel length does the MFR XL 15.0 suit?
A: Practically, 16″ and longer. At 15.30″ the rail needs enough barrel that the handguard does not overhang the muzzle, and it is specified for a rifle gas system, which puts it on 16″, 18″ and 20″ barrels. On a 14.5″ barrel it would reach past the muzzle. Call 817-393-4000 with your barrel and muzzle device.
Q: Will it clear a rifle length gas block?
A: Yes. It is the XL length specified for a rifle gas system, so a rifle length low-profile gas block sits under the handguard rather than ahead of it. The block still has to be a pinned low-profile unit that passes inside the 1.61″ bore during installation, which a front sight base will not do.
Q: Can the whole suppressor sit inside the rail?
A: Often most of it can, depending on can length and the mount you use. The 1.61″ bore is designed for suppressor clearance and 15.30″ of rail is a lot of coverage on a 16″ barrel. Whether your specific can fits fully inside depends on its diameter and length, so call 817-393-4000 with the model and we will work it out.
Q: How much heavier is the 15.0 than the 13.5?
A: One ounce: 10.40 oz against 9.40 oz for the bare rail. Both carry the same 1.82″ width, 2.163″ height and 1.61″ bore, so the difference is just the extra 1.5″ of rail. For a rifle length gun that ounce buys the reach you need over the gas block, which is a fitment gain rather than a preference.
Q: Is the top rail continuous with my receiver rail?
A: Yes. The MFR XL has an uninterrupted Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny upper rail, and the Bolt-Up System mounting aligns it to the upper receiver so the two surfaces index together. That is what makes a clip-on night vision or thermal device usable in front of a day optic across the full 15.30″ of handguard.
Q: What comes with the rail for installation?
A: It is supplied with a Bolt-Up System barrel nut wrench and an Allen wrench, and anti-rotation tabs come standard to keep the handguard aligned as you bolt it up. You provide the upper vise block and torque wrench. To confirm anything else packed with this SKU, call 817-393-4000 before ordering.
