The European American Armory Bounty Hunter is a single-action revolver chambered in .44 Rem Mag. It has a 4.5″ barrel, a 6-round cylinder and a full-size steel frame. Overall length is 10.5″, and it weighs 38.4 oz.
This is a traditional layout. The external hammer is cocked by hand before each shot, so the pace is slower and more deliberate than a double-action revolver. The frame carries a blue finish, and the grips are walnut. Sights are fixed at both ends, so there is nothing to adjust and nothing to knock out of position.
Who it suits
The Bounty Hunter fits shooters who like single-action revolvers and want a big-bore chambering in a full-size frame. The steel construction and 38.4 oz weight give it some heft, which many people appreciate when shooting a magnum cartridge. It also works for anyone building a collection of traditional-style revolvers, or for range days spent working on trigger and hammer control.
Gear that pairs well with it includes a belt holster sized for a 4.5″ barrel, a padded handgun case for transport, and a good set of eye and ear protection. Pick up .44 Rem Mag ammunition for the range, and add a cleaning kit with a bore brush and patches to keep the bore and cylinder in order after each session.
