The Sig NG68 Spear QD suppressor is the factory-matched can for the MCX Spear 6.8×51 NGSW platform — engineered specifically to handle the unique pressure profile, bore diameter, and energy of the .277 Fury cartridge. The NG68 designation directly mirrors the NGSW naming (Next Generation 6.8mm) — this is not a repurposed 7.62 suppressor adapted for 6.8×51. Sig designed and tested the NG68 alongside the MCX Spear as an integrated system. The Clutch-LOK QD mount engages the MCX Spear’s factory QD flash hider in a fraction of a second, and the mounts included ensure immediate compatibility. In Coyote, it matches the MCX Spear CT (Coyote Tan) for a cohesive system appearance.
6.8x51mm (.277 Fury) operates at higher pressures than 7.62 NATO — even in commercial brass-case loads, the 6.8×51 pushes harder than .308. The NG68’s baffle geometry and Inconel construction handle this elevated pressure regime with the same service life rating as Sig’s standard rifle suppressors. For MCX Spear 6.8×51 owners, the NG68 is the only suppressor purpose-built for their platform.

FAQ — Sig NG68 Spear QD
Can the NG68 run on 5.56 or 7.62 hosts?
Yes — the NG68 bore accommodates .277″ and smaller bullets, so 5.56 (.224″) and 7.62 (.308″) both fit and can be used if the mount is compatible. The NG68 is however optimized for 6.8×51 in its baffle geometry and pressure ratings. For dedicated 5.56 or 7.62 use, the SLX SURGE 556 or SLXC 762 are better choices.
Does the mount come installed?
The NG68 Spear QD ships with the Clutch-LOK mount included. Install the mount on your MCX Spear’s QD flash hider per the included instructions and the NG68 attaches and detaches in seconds.
