Desert Tech SRSA2 Rifle Covert in .308 Win with 16″ barrel and bullpup bolt-action design, delivering full-power rifle performance in a compact platform.
The Desert Tech SRSA2 Rifle Covert 308Win 16″ 6rd BLK/BLK is a bolt-action bullpup rifle chambered in .308 Winchester with a 16-inch barrel and 6-round capacity. The SRSA2 Covert combines the precision of a traditional bolt-action with the reduced overall length of a bullpup configuration, making it easier to transport and deploy in confined spaces without sacrificing barrel length or muzzle energy.
This platform suits precision shooters who need a compact footprint for vehicle storage, backpack carry, or use in tight shooting positions. The bullpup layout moves the action and magazine behind the trigger group, keeping the barrel long while shortening the overall package significantly compared to conventional rifle designs.

How the Bullpup Design Benefits .308 Win Shooters
Bullpup rifles place the action and magazine well behind the trigger, allowing a full-length barrel in a much shorter overall package. For .308 Winchester, this means you retain the velocity and terminal performance of a 16-inch barrel while gaining the maneuverability of a carbine-length platform. The reduced length makes the rifle easier to swing in and out of vehicles, carry in a pack, or use from prone and kneeling positions where a traditional stock would extend too far back.
The bolt-action design maintains the precision and reliability expected from a dedicated accuracy platform, without the gas system complexity of semi-automatic rifles. Because the shooter’s face sits closer to the action in a bullpup, trigger reach and eye relief differ from conventional layouts. Most shooters adapt quickly, and the tradeoff in ergonomics is often worthwhile for the dramatic reduction in length.
What to Know Before Buying the SRSA2 Covert
The SRSA2 Covert is a specialized tool designed for shooters who value compactness and portability in a precision rifle. The 6-round capacity reflects the platform’s focus on deliberate, accurate fire rather than volume. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What makes the SRSA2 Covert different from a standard bolt-action rifle?
A: The SRSA2 Covert uses a bullpup design that places the action behind the trigger group, allowing a 16-inch barrel in a much shorter overall package than a conventional rifle. This layout improves portability and handling in confined spaces while maintaining full barrel length for velocity and accuracy.
Q: Is the Desert Tech SRSA2 Covert legal in Texas?
A: Yes, the SRSA2 Covert is legal to own in Texas as a standard bolt-action rifle with a 16-inch barrel. No NFA paperwork is required. Buyers in other states should verify that bullpup rifles meet their local and state regulations before purchasing.
Q: How does the 6-round capacity compare to other precision rifles?
A: The 6-round capacity is typical for compact precision platforms that prioritize accuracy and portability over magazine volume. Many traditional bolt-action rifles in .308 Win hold between 5 and 10 rounds, depending on magazine type and stock design.
Q: Who is the SRSA2 Covert best suited for?
A: The SRSA2 Covert suits shooters who need full .308 Win performance in a compact, portable package—such as those who carry rifles in vehicles, backpacks, or confined shooting positions. The bullpup layout requires some adjustment in handling and trigger reach, so it is best for shooters willing to train on a non-traditional ergonomic platform.
