Winchester Repeating Arms M70 Extreme Weather Bolt-Action Rifle

Product Description

The Winchester Repeating Arms M70 Extreme Weather is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, with a 24″ hammer-forged barrel. The barrel is free floating and has a 1:8″ twist and a target crown at the muzzle. Overall length is 42.25″.

This M70 uses a controlled round feed action with a claw extractor. The trigger is the MOA system, and the safety has three positions. The magazine holds 5+1 rounds and loads through a hinged floorplate. The rifle has a stainless steel finish and a Bell and Carlson synthetic stock. Browning Arms Company is the importer.

Who it suits

This rifle fits hunters who spend time in wet, cold or rough country and want a stainless rifle with a synthetic stock. It also suits shooters who like the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge and want a lightweight barrel. The controlled round feed design appeals to anyone who wants the claw extractor grabbing the case as it leaves the magazine.

The rifle has no sights, so plan on adding an optic. A scope, rings and bases are the first purchase. After that, a sling, a bipod and a padded case make sense for field use. Pick 6.5 Creedmoor ammunition for the range and for hunting, and a cleaning kit for the bore.
