The Angstadt UDP-9 9mm short barreled rifle delivers hearing-safe performance for home defense and range training. Compact 6″ barrel with M-LOK handguard and 17-round capacity.
Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed
The Angstadt UDP-9 9mm short barreled rifle is a modern, compact platform built for shooters who demand both power and portability. This semi-automatic SBR features a 6″ barrel optimized for subsonic 9mm performance. Additionally, the free-float M-LOK handguard ensures consistent accuracy while remaining lightweight and maneuverable.
Key Features & Design
This UDP-9 includes an A2-style flash hider to reduce muzzle signature. Furthermore, the anodized black finish provides excellent corrosion resistance in all weather conditions. The B5 Systems Bravo stock delivers a secure, comfortable cheek weld during shooting. Moreover, the manual safety offers intuitive, positive control.
Capacity & Reliability
The rifle ships with one 17-round magazine, giving you substantial firepower in a compact package. In addition, the 9mm caliber minimizes recoil, making follow-up shots fast and accurate. The design excels at hearing protection during range sessions and hearing-safe hunting applications.
Perfect for Home Defense & Training
Whether you’re setting up a defensive rifle or building a training platform, the UDP-9 adapts to your needs. Indeed, the short barrel and manageable recoil make it ideal for tight spaces and rapid target transitions. Finally, its modular M-LOK system lets you add optics, lights, and accessories exactly how you want them.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the Angstadt UDP-9 9mm SBR legal to own in Texas?
A: Yes. Texas law permits ownership of short barreled rifles by civilians. However, federal registration and a $0 tax stamp through the ATF are required. Western Sport handles all paperwork and transfer procedures — we’ll guide you through every step.
Q: What makes the 6″ barrel ideal for 9mm subsonic ammunition?
A: The 6″ barrel length is optimized to cycle standard and subsonic 9mm loads reliably while keeping the overall package compact. With quality subsonic ammo, the UDP-9 delivers hearing-safe performance, making it excellent for suppressed shooting at the range or during hearing-safe hunting scenarios.
Q: Does the UDP-9 come with a suppressor, or do I need to buy one separately?
A: The UDP-9 comes with an A2-style flash hider — the suppressor is sold separately. Many owners pair it with quality 9mm suppressors for optimal hearing protection and subsonic performance at the range or in home defense applications.
