Product Description
The Daniel Defense Offset Flashlight Mount Insert, 0.835 in is a 0.1 oz sleeve that adapts the Daniel Defense Offset Flashlight Mount to accept 0.835 in. diameter flashlights – it is an insert for that mount, not a mount on its own.
The purpose is to save you buying a second mount. If you already run the Offset Flashlight Mount and change to a light with a slimmer 0.835 in. body, the insert slides over the flashlight and the mount installs as normal – same mount, same position, same clamp.
The only decision is the diameter, and it is the one that matters. We list this insert in 0.835 in. and another in 0.915 in.; those two numbers are the entire difference between them. Pick wrong and the mount will not clamp the light securely, which means a light that rotates or works loose under recoil.

Measure the light, not the box
Put calipers on the flashlight body where the mount clamps – not the head or the tailcap, which are usually wider. Bodies in this size range are easy to mistake by eye, and 0.080 in. is the whole difference between our two inserts. Reads 0.835 in.? Order this one. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I know whether I need the 0.835 in. or the 0.915 in. insert?
A: Measure the barrel of your flashlight with calipers where the mount will clamp. If it reads 0.835 in., this is the insert. If it reads 0.915 in., you want the other one. The two differ only in that bore dimension, and an insert that is oversize for your light will not clamp securely.
Q: Does this insert work on its own as a mount?
A: No. It is an insert for the Daniel Defense Offset Flashlight Mount, not a mount in its own right. It exists so the Offset Flashlight Mount can accept 0.835 in. diameter flashlights without you having to buy a different mount.
Q: How does it install?
A: The insert simply slides over the flashlight body, and then the mount installs as normal. There is nothing to disassemble on the mount and no extra hardware step – you are effectively sleeving a smaller light up to the diameter the mount was built to clamp.
Q: What does it weigh?
A: 0.1 oz. It is a sleeve, so its contribution to the rifle is negligible, and it does not move the light any further from the handguard in a way that matters for handling. The weight worth counting is the light itself and the mount, not the insert.
Q: My light measures something other than 0.835 or 0.915 in. – what now?
A: Then neither insert is a match, and the honest answer is do not force it. A clamp that does not fully contact the light body will let the light rotate under recoil or drop out of zero if it carries a laser. Call 817-393-4000 with your light model and we will work out your options.
Q: What is the insert made of?
A: We are not going to state a material for this part number, because it is not something we can verify for it. What we can state is the function, the diameter it adapts to and the 0.1 oz weight. Call 817-393-4000 if the material matters for your application.
