Heckler & Koch SP5, 9MM, 8.86″ Threaded Barrel, Black, 30 Rounds

Product Description

For decades, the only ways to own an MP5 in the United States were a pre-1986 transferable machine gun or a clone assembled from someone else’s parts. The Heckler & Koch SP5 changed that. It is a semi-automatic sporting pistol built by HK itself, in its Oberndorf, Germany factory, on the same production lines and by the same workforce that has made the MP5 for years. It is not a copy. It is the genuine HK roller-delayed system in a pistol you can buy and transfer like any other handgun.

Authentic MP5 Features

• Roller-delayed blowback operation — the system HK perfected on the G3 rifle, and the reason the MP5 is known for accuracy, reliability and a smooth, flat-shooting feel.
• 8.86" Navy-style barrel threaded 1/2×28 with a factory tri-lug adaptor, ready for 3-lug suppressor mounts and threaded muzzle devices.
• Fluted chamber for dependable extraction, exactly like the MP5.
• Paddle magazine release in the classic HK position.
• Elastic bungee sling included — it snaps onto the sling swivel at the rear of the receiver to steady the pistol and reduce fatigue.
• Two 30-round magazines included.

HK SP5 Specifications

Built for the MP5 Aftermarket

Because the SP5 is a true MP5-pattern gun, it works with the huge MP5 aftermarket — handguards, rails, optic mounts, end-plate adaptors and magazines. Search “MP5” on our site to see what is ready to ship.

Thinking About an SBR?

Many owners turn the SP5 into a short-barreled rifle so they can add an HK buttstock. Federal SBR rules changed in 2026 — see what changed — and state law still applies, with some states prohibiting SBRs outright.

Prefer the Compact K?

The HK SP5K-PDW puts the same roller-delayed action in the short MP5K format, with a 5.83" barrel and 13.8" overall length.
