The Browning XB2 Hunter GR2 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-06 Sprg with a 22" free-floating, hand-chambered barrel. Hunters who want a walnut-stocked big game rifle that is ready for a scope will find a lot to like here.
The Browning XB2 Hunter GR2 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-06 Sprg with a 22″ barrel. The barrel is free floating and hand chambered, with a 1:10″ twist. Overall length is 42.75″, which keeps it handy for carrying through timber or climbing into a stand.
Several details set this rifle apart. The bolt has a short-throw 60-degree lift, so there is more room between the bolt handle and your scope. The trigger is the adjustable DLX type, and the safety sits on the tang. Ammunition feeds from a detachable rotary magazine that holds 4+1 rounds. The barrel is threaded for a muzzle brake.
Walnut and blued steel
The stock is satin finish Grade II walnut, paired with a low luster blued finish. It is a traditional look for a hunting rifle, and it fits the .30-06 well. This is a cartridge many hunters already know for deer, elk and similar game.
The rifle has no sights, so plan on adding an optic. It is drilled and tapped and uses the X-Lock mounting system, so look for a scope and X-Lock mounts to go with it. Beyond that, a sling, a spare magazine, and a padded case or a good rifle sleeve round out a hunting setup. If you plan to add a muzzle device, the threaded barrel is ready for it.
