When you enter the world of ARs, you enter a world flooded with hundreds of choices. If you’re new to the world, you probably have questions such as: “What is the best beginner AR?” or “What makes this one better than that one?” etc. etc. Then you’ll have names like Colt, Sig, Noveske, Daniel Defense and more thrown out there as “industry leaders.” And they all make good, if not great, products. In this flooded market, its not often that something comes along that has industry-leading quality with a price point that’s easy on the wallet. SIONICS Weapon Systems is one of those companies.
SIONICS was formed with the intent of making dependable firearms for those whose lives depend on their firearms. With that in mind, SIONICS’s production doesn’t follow the normal “assembly line” mentality. So what makes SIONICS so great?
1: Manufacturing
Where some of the big manufacturers will pump out parts and then throw them together, SIONICS went the other direction. Each gun they turn out is put together by one person. That means that this person puts it together from bottom to top. Then another person comes and inspects it. On top of the inspection of the final product, each piece of the puzzle is inspected separately. That would be like you putting together a 500 piece puzzle and inspecting the integrity of every puzzle piece before placing it where it goes. It is a big task, but the quality of the finished product speaks for the benefits of it. All quality control is overseen by not just anybody, but by a Master Armorer. Yes, that is correct, a Master Armorer.
Another feature of this quality assurance is the degree with which they test their barrels. Every single barrel they make is MP inspected. Not just one or two per batch, but every single one. Then they take it even further. Every single barrel they produce is radiograph inspected by an FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) Certified Laboratory; that mean’s the same quality that goes into inspecting airplane parts goes into inspecting these barrels. They x-ray every barrel. Not just a few per batch. This ensures that no bad barrels make it into the final products.
To ice the cake, once the product is put together, it goes through a rigorous 19-point quality control inspection. This inspection spans everything from a full BCG inspection to making sure the rifle looks good cosmetically. Remember, what good is an AR if it ain’t “purty.”
2: The Pros Love ‘Em

A complete SIONICS upper can be found for anywhere from $600 and up: for example, the SIONICS Patrol Zero. That’s half the price of the “industry leaders” who do less for their products. A complete rifle can be bought for less than $1000: for example, the SIONICS Patrol Three-E.
The reason this should shock you is that the quality of these products is deserved of top notch prices. To be able to get something of this quality for a fraction of what it should cost is amazing.
So if you’re new to the industry, or even if you’ve been in the AR community for a while now, SIONICS should be on your wishlist. And do you want to know why?
