Product Description

The Aero Precision M4E1 Stripped Lower Receiver Special Edition Freedom is a forged AR-15 lower receiver with integrated trigger guard and tension screw, finished in anodized black. This stripped lower serves as the serialized foundation for a custom AR-15 build.

The M4E1 platform simplifies assembly. The integrated trigger guard eliminates a separate pin and part. The threaded tension screw lets you remove play between the upper and lower without shims or tape.

Stripped lowers arrive ready to accept your choice of lower parts kit, buffer assembly, and stock. You control the trigger, grip, and furniture from the start.

What Makes the M4E1 Stripped Lower Different

Standard AR-15 lowers require a separate trigger guard and roll pin. The M4E1 integrates the guard into the forging. This cuts one installation step and removes a common source of scratches during assembly.

The upper tension screw threads into the rear takedown pin hole. Turn it to apply upward pressure against the upper receiver. This removes rattle and tightens lockup without aftermarket parts.

The Freedom edition carries “We The People” engraving on the magazine well. Otherwise the specs and dimensions match the standard M4E1 stripped lower.

Building on a Stripped Lower Receiver

A stripped lower is the serialized, regulated component of an AR-15. It requires an FFL transfer. Everything else—upper receiver, barrel, handguard, stock—ships to your door without federal paperwork.

You will need a lower parts kit for the trigger, safety, and magazine release. You will need a buffer tube, buffer, spring, and stock. Most builders add a pistol grip. Some choose to install these parts themselves. Others bring the lower and the parts to a gunsmith for assembly.

Because the lower is the only serialized part, buying it as a stripped unit gives you complete control over the rest of the rifle. Change calibers by swapping uppers. Upgrade the trigger without replacing the whole gun.

Aero Precision M4E1 vs Standard AR-15 Lowers

Mil-spec AR-15 lowers use the same forging dimensions that have been standard for decades. Any mil-spec upper will mate with any mil-spec lower. The M4E1 holds to those external dimensions but adds the integrated trigger guard and tension screw.

Both features appeared first on billet lowers. Aero brought them to a forged receiver at a lower price point. The integrated guard makes installation faster. The tension screw solves the loose-fit problem that some shooters ignore and others obsess over.

If you already own lower parts kits or prefer a specific brand of components, the M4E1 accepts all standard AR-15 fire control groups, grips, and buffer systems. Browse our stripped lowers to compare models and editions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is the Aero Precision M4E1 stripped lower in stock?

We can also place special orders and handle transfers for you.

Q: What is the difference between the M4E1 Freedom lower and the standard M4E1 stripped lower?

A: The Freedom edition carries “We The People” engraving on the magazine well. The forging, integrated trigger guard, and tension screw remain the same as the standard M4E1.

Q: Do I need an FFL transfer to buy an Aero M4E1 stripped lower receiver?

A: Yes. The lower receiver is the serialized, regulated part of an AR-15. It requires a background check and transfer through a licensed FFL dealer like Western Sport.

Q: Will the M4E1 stripped lower work with any AR-15 upper receiver?

A: The M4E1 uses the same external dimensions as mil-spec AR-15 lowers. Any mil-spec upper will mate with it. The integrated trigger guard and tension screw do not affect upper compatibility.

Q: What parts do I need to complete an Aero Precision M4E1 stripped lower?

A: You will need a lower parts kit, buffer tube assembly, stock, and pistol grip to complete the lower. Send us a message to confirm compatibility with the parts you plan to use or to discuss gunsmithing services.

Q: Can I install the lower parts kit myself on the M4E1?

A: Many builders install their own lower parts kits using punches, a hammer, and patience. The integrated trigger guard on the M4E1 eliminates one pin and one installation step compared to a standard lower. Western Sport offers gunsmithing services if you prefer professional assembly.
