Daniel Defense Pistols

Western Sport stocks over 25 Daniel Defense pistols — MK18 brace pistols, DDM4 V7P configurations, PDW pistols, DD5 pistols, and the H9 handgun. Every Daniel Defense pistol ships with a Cold Hammer Forged barrel, mil-spec+ quality control, and the full Daniel Defense Limited Lifetime Warranty. Authorized dealer in Roanoke, TX. FFL since 2007. Why Choose a Daniel Defense AR Pistol?

Daniel Defense AR pistols deliver the same Cold Hammer Forged barrel quality and mil-spec+ construction as their full-size rifles, in a shorter, more maneuverable package. Because they ship with a pistol brace instead of a rifle stock, AR pistols with barrels under 16 inches are legally classified as pistols — no NFA registration required, no $200 tax stamp (though under OBBBA that’s now $0 anyway), and no wait time. You can buy a MK18-length 10.3-inch barrel gun and take it home the same day.

Daniel Defense AR Pistol Models

MK18 Pistol — SOCOM CQB in Pistol Form

The Daniel Defense MK18 Pistol is the most requested Daniel Defense AR pistol at Western Sport. It features a 10.3-inch Cold Hammer Forged barrel — identical to the SBR version trusted by SOCOM — with a pistol brace instead of a rifle stock. Available in Black, FDE, and Law Tactical folding brace configurations. Chambered in 5.56 NATO. 32-round capacity.

DDM4 V7P — The Pistol Workhorse

The DDM4 V7P brings the V7 platform into pistol form. The 10.3-inch CHF barrel in 5.56 NATO or 300 Blackout, M-LOK handguard, and Law Tactical folding brace adapter make this one of the most versatile compact AR configurations available. Multiple color options including Black and FDE.

DDM4 PDW Pistol — Maximum Compact

The DDM4 PDW is Daniel Defense’s smallest package — a 7-inch 300 Blackout barrel with a purpose-built folding/collapsing stock system that makes the PDW genuinely pocketable compared to traditional AR pistols. The 300 Blackout cartridge is optimized for short-barrel performance, making this the preferred choice for those who prioritize portability over everything else. Available in Black, FDE, and Cobalt.

DD5 Pistol (.308 / 7.62)

For those who want AR-10 performance in a pistol format, the DD5 Pistol offers a 12.5-inch barrel in 7.62×51/.308 Win with the same CHF barrel and mil-spec construction as the full-size DD5 rifles. A significant package for close-quarters precision work.

H9 — The Daniel Defense Handgun

The Daniel Defense H9 is a full-size striker-fired pistol chambered in 9mm, built on an aluminum frame. It’s a departure from Daniel Defense’s AR heritage, but it carries the same commitment to American manufacturing and exacting tolerances. Available in standard configuration and the H9 Compact.

AR Pistol vs. SBR — Which Is Right for You?

The practical difference between a Daniel Defense MK18 Pistol (brace) and MK18 SBR (stock) comes down to the NFA registration process. The pistol ships with a brace and requires no NFA approval — buy it, transfer it, take it home. The SBR ships with a rifle stock (or allows you to add one) and requires a Form 4 NFA registration. Under OBBBA, the federal NFA tax stamp is now $0 — so the SBR costs less to register than it ever has. Western Sport is SOT/Class III licensed and handles all SBR paperwork in-house. Call 817-393-4000 to discuss which configuration fits your needs.

What to know before buying a pistol

Most defensive pistol purchases should include: the pistol, at least three magazines, a quality holster (not a universal fit), and defensive hollow point ammunition to confirm reliability. Budget for all four before you buy. A pistol without a holster is not a defensive tool.

Optics-ready slides are worth the premium if you plan to run a red dot. Milling a slide later costs $100–$200 at a gunsmith. The optics-ready versions come with factory cuts and suppressor-height sights. Holosun 507C and Trijicon RMR Type 2 are the two most common additions.

We offer price matching on pistols from competitors. Layaway is available. If you are looking at a specific model that we do not have in stock, call us — we can usually order it on a short turnaround.
