Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed
The Arsenal SAM7K is a short-barreled AK rifle chambered in 7.62x39mm. This model, part number SAM7K-28G, has an 8.5″ chrome-lined barrel, a matte black finish, olive drab green polymer furniture and a 10-round magazine.
It is for AK fans who want a compact, handy rifle for home defense, truck carry or range days. The short barrel keeps it easy to move with in tight spaces.
Barrel and muzzle
The 8.5″ barrel is chrome-lined, which helps it resist wear and corrosion. The muzzle is threaded 24×1.5mm right hand, the common AK thread, so it accepts AK-pattern muzzle devices made for that thread. Adjustable sights and a manual safety round out the controls.
Pair it with 7.62x39mm range and hunting ammunition, a few spare AK magazines and a sling. A muzzle device or suppressor mount made for the 24×1.5mm right-hand thread is the next step if you plan to run a can.
Since October 9, 2026, short-barreled rifles transfer on a regular ATF Form 4473 with a NICS background check at your FFL, with no Form 4 and no tax stamp. Check your state and local laws before you order.
