Specifications

What Makes the B14R Different

• Centerfire dimensions in rimfire. Same ergonomics, controls, and stock profile as the B14 HMR centerfire platform — your muscle memory transfers directly between .22 LR training and centerfire work.
• Match chamber standard. Unlike many rimfire rifles, the B14R comes with a match chamber that holds tight tolerances on .22 LR ammunition, unlocking best-in-class accuracy and consistency.
• Remington 700 footprint. Build your rifle your way: stocks, chassis, triggers, and scope mounts designed for the 700 pattern all work seamlessly. You’re not locked into proprietary parts.
• AICS-pattern magazine compatibility. The 10-round AICS magazine fits standard short-action magazine pouches used in NRL22 and PRS .22 competition — zero learning curve for competitors switching between formats.
• Bergara Performance Trigger. Factory-set around 3–3.5 lbs and adjustable down to 2 lbs with a simple Allen key — no gunsmith required. Reviewers consistently call it crisp and on par with most upgraded aftermarket triggers.

Bergara’s Barrel Story

Every Bergara barrel starts with precision straightening, followed by deep-hole drilling and three-spindle diamond honing to a mirror finish. Button rifling with carbide buttons held to less than .0002" groove diameter deviation ensures bore uniformity, and high-temperature stress relieving locks in the results. This 5-step heritage — refined over decades in Spain’s gunmaking region — produces barrels that shoot like hand-lapped customs at production prices. On the B14R, that precision translates to a sub-MOA guarantee straight from the box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the .22 LR match chamber really that important for accuracy?

Yes. Most rimfire rifles use utility chambers with loose tolerances because .22 LR ammunition itself varies wildly. A match chamber tightens up the interface between case and bore, which reduces vertical and horizontal spread — especially important when you’re training for precision at distance or competing in NRL22. With quality ammunition (CCI Standard, Federal Gold Medal), the B14R’s match chamber delivers consistency you’ll feel at 50 and 100 yards.

Can I use this rifle for NRL22 competition?

Absolutely. The B14R is built for NRL22. The AICS-pattern 10-round magazine is the competition standard, and the rifle’s weight and ergonomics are dialed for precision-rifle sports. Bergara’s sub-MOA guarantee means you’re starting from a platform that’s already capable.

Will centerfire B-14 stocks and chassis fit the B14R?

The B14R is built on the same B-14 action and Remington 700 footprint as the centerfire line, so most B-14-compatible stocks and chassis will fit. However, verify magazine compatibility and bolt-throw length with your stock choice before ordering. The B14R uses rimfire-length actions, so a centerfire B-14 short-action chassis may require minor fitting.

What ammunition shoots best in the B14R?

Start with CCI Standard Velocity or Federal Gold Medal Rimfire — both are consistent, clean-burning, and sit in the velocity sweet spot for match chambers. Avoid bulk-pack ammo, which has wider velocity swings and may not group as tightly. Once you find what your rifle likes, stick with it.

Is the Bergara Performance Trigger easy to adjust?

Yes. It requires only an Allen key and takes five minutes. Factory setting is around 3–3.5 lbs. Most shooters find 2.5–3 lbs optimal for precision work. There’s no need for a gunsmith.
