The Browning BAR MK IV Speed is a .308 Winchester semi-auto rifle with a 22″ fluted barrel. It runs on gas piston operation and holds 4 rounds. It is built for hunters who want a rifle that carries easily and holds up in rough country.
The barrel is fluted, which Browning says gives a good mix of light design and accuracy. The finish is Smoked Bronze Cerakote, which protects the metal against corrosion. That matters on a rifle that rides in trucks, blinds and brush.
Stock and field features
The composite stock wears Browning Ovix camouflage. It has overmolded gripping surfaces, so your hands keep a hold when conditions are wet or cold. A raised SoftFlex cheekpad adds comfort and helps you keep your face in place on the stock when you shoulder the rifle.
This rifle suits hunters and shooters who want a semi-auto in .308 Winchester and prefer gear that is tough and not fussy. Pair it with a good sling for long walks and a scope with rings sized for your base. Add a rifle case for travel and a supply of .308 Winchester ammunition for sighting in and practice. Check your local hunting rules for magazine and semi-auto requirements before you head out.
