The Browning T-Bolt Target/Varmint is a straight-pull bolt-action rifle chambered in .17 HMR, built around a 22″ heavy semi-match barrel. The barrel has a 1:9″ twist and a recessed crown at the muzzle. The finish is blue, and the overall length is 40.25″.
The straight-pull bolt is what sets the T-Bolt apart from a typical turn-bolt rifle. You work it back and forth instead of lifting and rotating the handle. It uses a one-piece dual extractor. Ammunition feeds from a detachable double helix rotary box magazine that holds 10+1 rounds. The trigger is adjustable, and the safety sits on the tang.
Set Up for Optics
This rifle has no sights. It is drilled and tapped, so you can mount a scope and set it up for the kind of shooting you do. The satin walnut Monte Carlo stock raises the comb, which helps keep your eye lined up behind an optic.
It suits target shooters who want a heavier barrel, and varmint hunters who need a rifle for longer shots on small game. Good companions include a scope with matching mounts, a bipod or shooting rest for steady groups, a sling, a padded rifle case, and extra magazines. Pick the optic and mounts to fit your own range and purpose.
