The Browning X-Bolt 2 Target Competition is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC with a 24″ barrel. The barrel is hand chambered and free floating, and the finish is matte stainless steel. Overall length is 44″.
This model is set up for precision work. The barrel is threaded M13x0.75 and wears a muzzle brake. The 1:7″ twist rate and the free-floated barrel are the features a target shooter looks at first. The trigger is adjustable, so you can set it to suit your hand. The bolt has a short-throw 60 degree lift, which keeps cycling quick between shots.
Stock, magazine and controls
The Vari-Tech stock carries the rifle. Feeding comes from a detachable rotary magazine that holds 3+1 rounds. The safety is a tang safety, and the action is drilled and tapped for mounting an optic.
The rifle has no sights, so plan on adding a scope. Pick rings and bases that fit your optic and this action. A bipod and a rear bag help at the bench or on the line. If you want to swap the muzzle device, any replacement must fit the M13x0.75 thread. Stock up on 6.5 PRC ammunition and you are set for long-range steel, paper and competition matches.
