The Browning X-Bolt 2 Western Hunter Long Range is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 6.5 PRC. It has a 26″ free-floating barrel with a 1:8″ twist and a matte blue finish. Overall length is 44″.
The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24 and comes with a thread protector. That makes the rifle suppressor ready when you want to add one. The action is drilled and tapped for mounting an optic, and the rifle has no sights, so you will need to supply a scope. The bolt handle is extended, and the trigger is adjustable. A tang safety sits at the rear of the action.
Stock and feed
The Vari-Tech stock is finished in OVIX Camo and has an adjustable comb. You can raise or lower the comb to line your eye up with the scope. Ammunition feeds from a detachable box magazine, and capacity is 5+1 rounds.
This rifle suits hunters who glass long distances and shoot from a bipod, a pack or a rest. It also fits shooters who like a threaded barrel for a suppressor. Good gear to pair with it includes a quality long-range scope, matching rings and bases, a bipod, a rangefinder and a sturdy rifle case. Pick a 6.5 PRC load that your barrel shoots well and confirm it at the range before the season.
