Q: What is the Mil-Spec+ part of the name?

A: Mil-Spec+ is the Daniel Defense Cerakote finish option offered on the M4A1, an alternative to the standard black and FDE builds. Mechanically the rifle is unchanged: same 14.5″ M4 profile barrel, same carbine gas system, same RIS II quad rail.

Q: Why does this SKU come without a magazine?

A: Because magazine capacity is restricted in a number of states and localities. Daniel Defense builds a dedicated no-magazine part number so the rifle can be shipped into those areas, with a compliant magazine supplied by the delivering dealer instead.

Q: Is a tax stamp needed for the 14.5″ barrel?

A: No. The flash suppressor is pinned and welded, permanently bringing barrel length to the 16-inch rifle minimum, so this is not a short-barrelled rifle. Like any rifle it still has to be transferred through a licensed FFL.

Q: What does it weigh, and how long is it?
