Product Description

The Daniel Defense DDM4 / Slim Rail / Lite Rail III Screw Pack is a replacement rail screw pack for the Daniel Defense DDM4 Rail, SLiM Rail and AR15 LITE Rail III handguards – the fastener-level order, as distinct from the fuller hardware pack that also carries the barrel nut and bolt-up plate.

The problem is almost always the same: a rail screw stripped by a worn bit, sheared, or lost during a handguard swap. Rail screws matter more than their size suggests, because a Daniel Defense rail is a free-float design whose alignment under a bipod or a loaded sling depends on its fasteners holding their torque. Daniel Defense rail fasteners are military specification, with Grade 8 fasteners specified on several of its rails.

Contents claims stay off this page on purpose. The screw count, thread size and length for this part number we confirm by phone rather than assume from the related hardware pack – a screw that is close but not correct bottoms out early or strips.

Screw pack, or the full hardware pack?

Order this screw pack when a fastener is missing or damaged and the rest of the rail mounting is sound. Order the DDM4 Rail / SLiM Rail / LITE Rail III Hardware Pack when the barrel nut or bolt-up plate is missing too – that pack is 2 oz and carries one Bolt-Up System barrel nut, one black bolt-up plate and four socket head cap screws. Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Which handguards is this screw pack for?

A: The DDM4 Rail, the SLiM Rail and the AR15 LITE Rail III – the same three handguards the matching hardware pack covers. A RIS II takes different fasteners and has its own screw pack, so identify the handguard on the rifle rather than working from the rifle’s model name.

Q: How many screws are in it, and what size?

A: We are not going to state a count, a thread size or a length for this part number, because those are the figures a buyer has to be right about and we will not carry them across from the hardware pack. Call 817-393-4000 and we will confirm the contents first.

Q: What is the difference between this and the hardware pack?

A: The DDM4 Rail / SLiM Rail / LITE Rail III Hardware Pack is a separate part number and covers the Bolt-Up System barrel nut, the bolt-up plate and socket head cap screws at 2 oz. This screw pack is the fastener-level item. Missing a barrel nut or plate means you need the hardware pack instead.

Q: I stripped one screw head – is a pack the right purchase?

A: Yes, and it is the usual reason people land here. One screw driven with a worn or wrong-size bit can stall a whole rail installation, and a pack gets you correct replacements plus spares. Do not reuse a damaged screw even if it still turns – the next torque cycle is when it shears.

Q: Why not substitute a generic socket screw?

A: Daniel Defense rail fasteners are military specification, with Grade 8 fasteners specified on several of its rails. A rail screw has to be torqued and sit flush without protruding into an accessory or a hand, and a soft or wrong-headed substitute deforms – a sheared screw in a rail is a drilling job.

Q: What is the right way to fit them?

A: Clean threads, the correct-size bit fully seated, and even tightening across the rail rather than one screw straight to full torque. We will not publish a torque value for this pack. If you want it set to spec, our gunsmith in Roanoke has the tooling and does this work routinely.
